February 27, 2008

The Southeast Alabama Rural Planning Organization (RPO) will hold the following meetings:

1.    Technical Committee, Wednesday, March 12, 2008, 10:00 a.m.

                       2.    Policy Committee, Wednesday, March 26, 2008, 10:00 a.m.

The Technical Committee and Policy Committee meetings will be in the Daleville Cultural & Cultural & Convention Center located at 750 S. Daleville Avenue, Daleville, Alabama.  The committees will discuss the Alabama Statewide Transportation Plan Update, and recommendations to adopt Long Range Transportation needs of Southeast Alabama.  The committees will also amend the by-laws and public involvement .

The RPO was established to develop a transportation planning process for the rural areas of southeastern Alabama and to serve as a formal link between the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and the local governments.  The counties that are served by the RPO include Barbour, Coffee, Covington, and the areas of Dale, Geneva, Henry, and Houston not served by the Southeast Wiregrass Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).  The RPO provides government officials and citizens in these counties an opportunity to receive information and discuss transportation issues with the ALDOT.

All of the meetings are open to the public.  Anyone requiring special assistance should contact the SEARP&DC at least twenty-four hours prior to the day of the meeting at (334) 794-4093.
